Sometimes we just want a decadent, sweet, chocolatey treat… but we also don’t want to eat something that is super unhealthy and take away from our gains! So here it is — my super simple protein cookie recipe that you can make with just 5 ingredients!

PROTEIN POWDERS I LOVE

I have tried a LOT of vegan protein powders over the last few years. Below are some of my favourites. Let me know if you’d like to hear more about the pros and cons of each because I am thinking of making a post about that in the future!

  1. Macro Mike protein (Cheezecake) — $63 per kilo with this link! (it is usually $69.95)

2. Bare Blends Organic Plant Protein (cacao and cinnamon) — $69.99 per kilo

the mixing process might get a bit messy…

INGREDIENTS

3 scoops of your favourite protein powder*

4 tbsp peanut butter (I used Bega 100% nuts crunchy)

1 tbsp hemp seeds

1/2 cup maple syrup (if your protein powder is super sweet use a little less)

2/3 cup dairy-free choc chips

*in this recipe I used Bare Blends Organic Plant-Based protein, but feel free to use your favourite protein powder

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C or 350f
  2. Combine the wet ingredients in a bowl
  3. Add in the protein powder and hemp seeds, then stir well
  4. Mix in the choc chips
  5. Using about a tablespoon of mixture for each cookie, form into a cookie shape and place on a lined baking tray
  6. Bake for 8–12 minutes depending on how chewy/crispy you like your cookies. Personally I like them firmer so 12 minutes is good for me but if you like them softer try 8–10 minutes!
